3 months before today was 08 Feb 2024, a Thursday. Subtracting 3 months in the past is usually just counting from May; however, longer calculations will push us from 2024 into 2023 or further. Even if the calculation remains within the year, I usually take note of the 8 days left in the middle of May to prep for an additional calculation before April. But that’s all there is to it - understand the month, if 3 months will change the year, season, or fiscal calendar, and subtract your dates.

  1. We started with date inputs: used current day of 08 May, then set the calculation - 3 months, and factored in the year 2024
  2. Noted your current time of year: 3 months in May will keep us in May and we don’t need to worry about adjusting months or years.
  3. Counted backwards months from current day: date - 08 May, factoring in the 8 days left in May to calculate Thursday February 08, 2024
  4. Did NOT factor in workdays: In this calculation, we kept weekend. See below for just workdays or the fiscal calendar
