72 months from today is 12 Jun 2030, a Wednesday. Adding 72 months in the future is usually just counting from June; however, longer calculations will push us from 2024 into 2025. Even if the calculation remains within the year, I usually take note of the 18 days left in the middle of June, to prep for left over days or weeks in the calculation.

How we calculated 72 months from today

All of our day calculators are measured and QA'd by our engineer. Read more about the Git process here. But here's how adding 72 months to today's date gets calculated on each visit:

  • Started with date inputs: starting point: 12 Jun, Units to add: 72 months, and year: 2024
  • Noted your current time of year: 18 days in middle of June
  • Added 72 months from current day: 12 Jun, factoring in there are 18 days left in before July
  • Did NOT factor in workdays: In this calculation, we kept weekend. See below for just workdays or the 2024 fiscal calendar.

Tips to get your solution: June 12

Wednesday Wednesday June 12, 2030 is the 163 day of the year or 44.66% through 2030.

  • Current date: 12 Jun
  • Day of the week: Wednesday
  • New Date: Wednesday June 12, 2030
  • New Date Day of the week: Wednesday
  • June is the end of Q2 so if you're counting dates ahead, you might end up in H2 of the fiscal year.
  • The solution crosses into a different year..

Ways to calculate 72 months from today

  1. Just calculate it: Start with a time from today calculator. 72 months is easiest solved on a calculator. For ours, we've already factored in the days in + all number of days in each month and the number of days in 2024. Simply add your months and choose the length of time, then click "calculate". This calculation does not factor in workdays or holidays (see below!).
  2. Use June's calendar: Begin by identifying on a calendar, note that it’s Wednesday, and the total days in July (trust me, you’ll need this for smaller calculations) and days until next year (double trust me, you'll need this for larger calculations). From there, count forward 72 times by months, adding months from 12 Jun.
  3. Use Excel: Regardless of unit type, I use day calculations here. Type =TODAY()+72 into the cell. If you want to add weeks, multiply your day by 7 and months/years will take their own calculation due to the changing days of the week. To find 72 months workdays, convert to days but use =WORKDAY(TODAY(), [number of days], [holidays]) into the cell. [number of days] is how many working days you want to add, and [holidays] is an optional range of cells that contain dates of holidays to exclude.

72 working months from today

72 months is Wednesday June 12, 2030 or could be Friday December 31, 2032 if you only want workdays. This calculation takes 72 months and only adds by the number of workdays in a week. Remember, removing the weekend from our calculation will drastically change our original Wednesday June 12, 2030 date.
